Lover’s Lane
Samantha made sure to cancel her workout with Dana so she and Quincy could sleep in. They woke up to a sunny morning, well rested. Just like a man, first thing in the morning after he peed, Q was ready to go at it again. And she was happy to oblige his hard morning wood as it once again sent her into a sexual land of fulfillment. The way he put it down was something she could definitely get used to. She led him downstairs to the kitchen where Ramon was ready to make their breakfast.
“I forgot you had a cook. What can he make?” Quincy asked as they walked into the kitchen.
“Anything you want, just ask.”
“So if I want a steak omelet?”
“He can do that.”
“What about pancakes?”
“He makes the best pancakes I’ve ever had.”
Ramon looked up at this tall, muscular bare chested black man she brought into the kitchen and gave him the same look Rosie did. Samantha found herself thinking, maybe I should have asked him to put a shirt on. Damn, I can’t wait until I get my own place.
Quincy stopped and looked at him. “Good morning.”
“Good morning,” Ramon replied still looking at him.
“Ramon, this is Quincy, a special friend of mine.”
“Ramon,” he said extending his hand to Quincy.
“Nice to meet you. Uhm, can I have a steak omelet?”
“Yes. Onions, peppers, tomatoes?”
“Please.”
“What kind of cheese?”
“Uhm, cheddar is fine.”
“You want pancakes or waffles?”
“Pancakes works.”
“Miss Samantha, you want your regular?”
“Yes, please.”
“Got it. Give me ten minutes. You want a scone?”
“Sure.” They each took scones he had baked earlier that morning, and Quincy took her hand and led her into the living room.
“What’s the matter?”
“You didn’t see the look he gave us?”
“No. How did he look at us?”
“You’re kidding me, right?”
“No. I really didn’t see anything out of the ordinary.”
“Instant replay of last night.”
“Seriously? Are you sure? Maybe you’re just paranoid.”
“I’m not blind, Sam. I saw how he looked at me.”
“Okay, calm down. I’ll take care of it.”
She went into the kitchen. “Ramon.”
“Yes?”
“Is everything okay?”
“Yes. Why?”
“Well, last night Rosie had an issue with…”
“I know what you going to say. She call me when she leave and tell me everything.”
“She called you?”
“She did. I tell her it’s not our business.”
“And what did she say?”
“That your parents gonna have a fit. I say, well if dat happen, it’s still none of our business.”
“Can you both just keep quiet about it? My parents don’t need to know anything until I’m ready to tell them.”
“I no say nothing. Rosie deh one you need to keep quiet. I tell her I mind my business. Just make him put on a shirt. I don’t want to see his naked chest.”
“I’ll do that, but please, just let me deal with this.”
“You like him?”
“I do.”
“Then treat him nice. I happy if you happy, mami.”
“Thank you.” She walked back into the living room and couldn’t find Quincy. He came from upstairs dressed with his overnight bag in hand. “Where are you going? Why are you dressed?”
“I don’t wanna stay and be treated like this, Sam.
